Privacy Policy
CountryWall helps you discover, save and use wallpapers without an account. Usage data and crash diagnostics are separate, optional choices. Both start off.
Last updated:
This policy covers the CountryWall Android and iOS apps and this website. CountryWall is provided by Ihor Urbanskyi, responsible for the processing described here. For privacy questions or requests, contact urbanskyi.dev@gmail.com.
1. Information on your device
The app stores selected countries and their order, language, favorites, up to 30 recently viewed wallpaper identifiers, optional data-sharing choices and other app preferences. These support your local experience; there is no CountryWall account or account-based synchronization. Favorites and Recent lists are not uploaded as lists to our content server.
The app keeps catalog metadata, a bounded downloaded-image cache and temporary files needed for exports or sharing. Cleanup may happen after use or during a later operation. Android device backup or transfer may include preferences, including your data-sharing choices, according to system settings. Downloaded cache, save-recovery records and temporary share files are excluded from the app's intended Android backup content. Device or cloud backups are also controlled by their providers.
2. Wallpapers, permissions and sharing
CountryWall does not import or upload your photo library, read contacts or request camera, microphone or precise-location access.
- iOS: saving an image requests add-only Photos access. This permission does not let CountryWall read your existing photos. You install the saved image as wallpaper through iOS.
- Android: Apply passes the selected image to the system wallpaper service. Save writes to the gallery; Android 9 and earlier may request storage-write permission, while newer versions use system media storage for this action.
- Share: only the image you choose is passed to the system sharing flow. Your chosen recipient processes it under its own terms.
Gallery/Photos copies, shared images and installed wallpapers exist outside the app's cache. Clearing app data or uninstalling does not necessarily remove them. Manage those copies in the gallery, destination app or system wallpaper settings.
3. Necessary content delivery and this website
The app downloads catalog metadata and selected image variants over HTTPS from countrywall-content.pages.dev, hosted by Cloudflare Pages. This website is also hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Content delivery works independently of your optional Firebase choices.
Cloudflare processes normal network and security information to deliver and protect requests, including IP address, request headers and time, requested page or image path, routing and cache information. An image path reveals which content was requested. We do not attach a CountryWall account ID, your favorites or Recent list, or raw search text to these content requests.
Our website code has no analytics script, advertising, tracking cookies, account, form or externally hosted font. Cloudflare still performs infrastructure processing, described in its Privacy Policy.
4. Optional usage data and crash diagnostics
CountryWall uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics only after a saved choice requires Firebase initialization. Both choices start off. You can decline both and keep using all wallpaper features. Change them separately in Settings: Share usage data and Share crash diagnostics.
Usage data
When enabled, Analytics receives interaction events such as screen views, wallpaper and collection identifiers, qualified impressions, app language, search-result counts and length buckets, and wallpaper-action outcomes. The SDK also processes app-instance/session identifiers, device, operating-system and app information, and approximate geography derived from network information. Custom events do not contain raw search text, query hashes, names, email addresses, saved image files or an account user ID.
Crash diagnostics
When enabled, Crashlytics processes crash/error reports, stack traces, app/device/OS state, installation and session identifiers, and service diagnostics. Controlled non-fatal reports use fixed error codes instead of original exception messages or arbitrary user context. Native crash reports contain the SDK's standard diagnostics. If both choices are enabled, Analytics interactions may also appear as crash breadcrumbs.
Firebase may process installation identifiers and technical information needed to operate initialized services. CountryWall does not use Android's advertising ID, Apple's IDFA or IDFV collection, or these services for cross-company advertising tracking. V1 has no ads, purchases or subscriptions.
Turning a choice off
This stops new app-owned reporting for that choice and applies the SDK's collection controls. CountryWall asks Crashlytics to delete unsent reports when crash diagnostics is disabled. Some native crash settings fully take effect at the next launch; restart the app after disabling crash diagnostics. Disabling does not recall data already sent or guarantee immediate removal of every SDK file or identifier. Events generated while usage sharing is off are not replayed after you enable it.
See Firebase privacy information and Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Support messages
Contact Support opens an email draft, or a web contact page if an email app cannot be opened. CountryWall does not send the message automatically. If you send it, we receive your email address, message and attachments you choose to include. Your email provider and our Gmail provider also process it. We use correspondence to answer requests and resolve problems. Do not include passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
6. Purposes, recipients and protection
Processing supports requested content delivery, local preferences, optional usage analysis and reliability diagnostics, support, security and applicable legal obligations. Where European or UK data-protection rules apply, optional analytics and diagnostics rely on consent; necessary delivery and requested support rely, as applicable, on providing the requested service or legitimate interests in reliable, secure operation and answering requests. You can withdraw optional consent prospectively in Settings.
Recipients include Google/Firebase, Cloudflare, email providers and the system or sharing services you choose. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Information may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. Providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their applicable data-protection terms and transfer safeguards. App network delivery uses HTTPS; no system guarantees absolute security.
7. Retention and deletion
- Local data: preferences remain until changed or removed, app data is cleared where supported, or the app is uninstalled, subject to separate backups. Recent is limited to 30 identifiers and can be cleared in the app. Caches and temporary files have storage limits and cleanup.
- Saved/shared images: remain where you saved or shared them until you remove them there.
- Analytics: user/event data follows the property's configured retention setting; aggregate reports can be retained separately. See Google's retention information.
- Crashlytics: Google states that crash traces and associated identifiers are retained for 90 days before removal from live and backup systems begins. Other operational identifiers follow the service-specific rules linked above.
- Cloudflare: network/security records follow the provider's service, security and retention requirements; we do not promise an unverified fixed period for its infrastructure records.
- Support: correspondence is retained while needed to handle the request and related follow-up, or meet legal obligations, and removed when no longer needed for those purposes.
8. Your choices and requests
You can change either data-sharing choice in Settings, clear Recent, manage local favorites and countries, and use system controls for permissions, app data and backups. Turning off sharing does not remove previously collected information.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, withdraw consent, or complain to a relevant data-protection authority. Email urbanskyi.dev@gmail.com with your request. We may need proportionate information to identify relevant records; there is no CountryWall account, and we cannot necessarily link an email address to a Firebase app-instance record. We do not ask you to send a password. Deletion remains subject to applicable legal requirements and provider processes.
9. Children and updates
CountryWall is a general-audience wallpaper app, not designed specifically for children. Where required by law, a parent or guardian must authorize a child's optional data sharing. Contact us if you believe a child's personal information was collected improperly.
We will publish policy changes here with an updated date and request a new choice where required for changed optional processing. The Ukrainian version is available from the language link above.
